One question that I get asked often, particularly on the run up to an event, is
“is there anyone who can’t Firewalk?”
Whether it’s because of disability, age, or illness, some people will worry whether they are ‘ok’ to Firewalk, or what the ‘rules’ are.
If this is you, or someone you know, you’re just thinking of holding an event, or you’re just a bit curious – this is for you.
We have seen children take part in Firewalks, and other breakthrough activities, and any member of our team would happily allow their children to Firewalk. However, for our public events, we only allow over 16s to walk, and those between 16-18 must have a signed consent from an adult with parental responsibility.
We are always happy to discuss the options for under 16s walking at private events.
There are lots of options for people wearing prosthetic legs to be able to Firewalk, and we are happy to support you to do so, along with the co-operation of the limb-fitting centre, should you wish to take part.
We would need to check temperatures your leg/blade/crutches could withstand, and possibly explore possibilities for walking near the edge with one foot on the fire, but if this is something you’d like to discuss feel free to get in touch.
There are some illnesses, such as diabetes, that often cause sufferers concern as to whether they will be able to Firewalk. Every case is different, so if this is you, or someone you know, it is always best to seek guidance from your medical practioner before making a decision about taking part in a Firewalk, to put your mind at rest.
As a general rule of thumb, if someone can stand, and walk at least 10 metres at a steady pace, un-aided, they can Firewalk. But, if you have concerns, it’s always easiest and best to double check with your medical practioner first.
Is There ANYONE Who Can’t Firewalk?
We don’t allow people to Firewalk at our events who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or who have not turned up in time for the firewalking seminar.
A professional event, with a great balance of safety and enjoyment, is always the priority to every member of our team – enabling as many people as possible to be a part of the incredible experinece of Firewalking, and fully encounter all that it has to offer.
We look forward to seeing you Firewalk soon!
